I already posted a picture of this gorgeous diorama that I made with the super talented Matthew Mead this past weekend but I thought I would show it once again on the blog. The holidays are almost right on top of us and this was such a fun project to do in an afternoon. For those of you that are local, Matthew is offering a few more holiday styling and decorating workshops in his studio over these next couple of weeks. My sister and I had so much fun creating, talking, eating tasty treats right from the pages of Matthew’s books.
These dioramas were so clever and sweet. They would make a great gift or would be gorgeous just sitting on a pretty cake stand as a center piece. These globes are actually little hanging air plant holders that you can purchase at your local nursery.
This is how I plan to display mine – it’s hanging from my vintage bird cage stand and looks ever so lovely.
To be able to take a class with the iconic Matthew Mead directly on the heels of his gorgeous cover for BHG magazine this month is nothing short of surreal. Talk about interacting in real-time!
Matthew also showed us how to arrange a gorgeous centerpiece for the holidays. This is what we got to sit in on. It was effortless under the guidance of MM. Won’t this look gorgeous on my Thanksgiving table?
Thank you Matthew and Jenny Mead for hosting us at your studio. You are forever inspiring with your keen eye for beautiful things. We walked away wanting more. Sign up for future classes at Matthew’s studio in New Hampshire here. Hopefully it won’t be a once in a lifetime chance but just in case – he is doing 3 more classes on 11/23, 12/6 and 12/7. I’m still pinching myself …
See you soon with my next 50:fifty piece
