I’ve been working on some new paintings over the past couple of months and am finally getting them ready for their close up. I recently was at Pitchblack Editions in Concord to have a selection of my original artwork reproduced into editions of fine art prints.
One of my favorites is “pura vida” which is a painting that I created after our trip to Costa Rica early this year. The colorful birds darting in and out of the flowers and vines really captivated me and made me want to try to get it down on paper. I used the photo of the snow-cone salesman on the beach of Playa Negra (below) as the inspiration for my color story in the painting. This is one of my first new prints that I’m adding to the shop this month with more to come in the next few days.
A sweet memory and inspiration for my color palette.
See you soon,
