I think I’m still in denial that the summer is behind us. School began yesterday and we returned home only the day before. The past weekend had me turning 50 – perhaps that is what I’m in denial about? Actually, I couldn’t be happier than I am now at this point in my life … to be with people you love and to be loved is pretty much where it is at in my books. I have been painting, albeit slower than I had initially planned over the summer. We realized a longtime dream this year and that was to buy a house by the beach. I have poured most of my creative energy into getting the house up and running so that we could squeeze every last drop of fun out of the summer. The painting above is called Parsons Road and it is my rendition of our house by the beach. It is one of the first paintings that I hung on our walls.
Here it is framed up and hanging on the wall in the entry – it is one of the first things you spy when you walk in the door. There is so much more to come and I’m thrilled to have the time to get back to painting. Stay tuned for the second half of the 50:fifty project.
