Lemon and seed pods by Ellen Kelley McHale

So we have this big storm due to hit us sometime tomorrow morning and to be frank – I’m just not that into you Mr. Snowstorm.  There, I said it.  Go away! Don’t drop a foot or more of snow on us just to show us that it is not over.  I’ve moved on but you seem to have other plans. Oh well – you know what they say, “when life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade or just paint the lemon!”

This is “lemon with seed pods” an interesting juxtaposition of citrusy hope and dried seed pods in a vase clinging to the last vestiges of winter. I’m all about the lemon and the bright sunshine color that even has those seed pods bowing down to it.  This painting makes me happy today.

Stay toasty and make yourself some lemonade today,

Ellen

I hope that my website feels like a thoughtful gesture; like a handwritten note, a shared recipe accompanied by a jar of something homemade or like a perfectly wrapped gift
