“composition of cut flowers” by Ellen Kelley McHale

I have a new piece that I just put the finishing touches on late yesterday and I’m really loving it.  It’s a bunch of cut flowers from my imaginary garden delicately arranged in a glass vase from my imaginary cupboard.  I had a sense of renewed energy yesterday after being held captive in my house the past two weeks with, in no particular order: snow, sickness and a self inflicted mini-renovation on our downstairs powder room.  Yesterday, the weather was mild, the snow was melting off the roof, my boy was coming home from school and my powder room looked exquisite. So – I could finally return to my studio to finish my painting.  To me, it is light, delicate, feminine, serene and hopeful. This is called: Composition of Cut Flowers and it can be found here.

I hope that my website feels like a thoughtful gesture; like a handwritten note, a shared recipe accompanied by a jar of something homemade or like a perfectly wrapped gift
